In April, there is a famous vivid and fun festival in Thailand, ‘Songkran Festival’. Many places including clubs arrange this festival. This is a tradition of Thai people and has become an iconic event to welcome tourists. Songkran Day is on April 13th. People celebrate from the 12th to the 16th of April. Everyone happily splashes water and dances together. It’s a joyful and vibrant time, especially in Bangkok.
Some people escape the hot weather to the beach. The beautiful sea at many islands plus activities such as snorkeling are wonderful. Phi Phi Island, Maya Bay, Bamboo Island, Thale Waek are popular to visit.

Thailand’s Rainy Season—or the lovely ‘Green Season’
It is around mid-May to mid-October. The special monsoon winds blow across the country. They bring fresh showers almost everywhere. Don’t worry, it rarely rains all day! Are you a fan of nature? The countryside turns amazing with green. The waterfalls are full and beautiful. The air feels wonderfully cool and fresh. This is a chance to experience nature, such as trekking or rafting, which offers a change from going to the beach in the summer.
The Green Season is perfect for checking out interesting places such as a province, ‘Kanchanaburi’. In the rainy season, rafting along the River Kwai is a well-known activity. Either or going for a walk in Sangkhla Buri district.
There is a small village of a tribe called ‘Mon’. They live near the Myanmar border. You get a special peek into a way of life that is unique and lovely to see.
Another place close to Bangkok is ‘Khao Yai National Park’. This park covers 4 provinces together, Saraburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachinburi and Nakhon Nayok. Each province has impressive places to visit during the rainy season such as Sarika Waterfall in Nakhon Nayok Province. Thap Lan National Park, the large park in Nadi District in Prachinburi Province is also worth visiting.

Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you the Cool Season is a great time for a Thai vacation! Winter in Thailand starts around mid-October to mid-February. Thai people call it the winter season, but it’s not freezing like winter in the West. That’s why foreigners call this season the Cool Season. November to January is the best time to visit Thailand if you are a fan of beach destination.
Besides the beaches, the Cool Season is a nice time to visit the mountains in the North. It’s amazing to experience the cool weather, see the sea of mist, explore the wide nature, and breathe fresh air.
When the Cool Season arrives, it’s time to head to the mountains! There are many popular holiday spots for both Thai people and visitors. Places like Phu ‘Thap Boek’ and ‘Khao Kho’ in Phetchabun Province are amazing. They offer up a truly beautiful and unforgettable view.
A place that’s currently in the spotlight and very interesting is ‘Rak Thai Village’ in Mae Hong Son Province. It is a village of Thai-Chinese Yunnan descent with impressive uniqueness. The large lake in the middle of the village creates a stunning picture.
